Job summary

HealthCare New Zealand currently seeks an experienced Support Worker for Rangiora. You will help clients live independently at home and in the community, following care plans and providing practical and emotional support.

Key tasks include meal prep, medication administration, personal care, and occasional home management. A Level 3/4 health qualification and a valid NZ driver’s licence are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or caregiving preferred.
• Must be able to follow a care plan and provide both practical and emotional support.
• Level 3 or 4 health care qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients to live as independently as possible at home and in the community.
• Provide meal preparation, medication assistance and personal cares as required.
• Support home management and accompany clients on outings.
• Follow care plans and document care performed.

We are currently seeking an experienced Support Worker to provide support for a client based in Rangiora.

Roster:

Week 1

• Saturday and Sunday:07:00 AM – 03:00 PM

Week 2

• Thursday: 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Saturday and Sunday:07:00 AM – 03:00 PM

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation and community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
• Must follow care plan instructions
• Level 3 or 4 qualified
• Hoist trained- sara steady, Catheter cares (empty catheter 3 hourly or if full and night bag change)
• Familiarity with passive exercises
