Job summary

HealthCare New Zealand – Palmerston North is recruiting empathetic and passionate Support Workers for a variety of services including Community & Rehabilitation, Disability and Social Services. Roles include both full-time and part-time permanent positions with flexible rosters to suit commitments.

You will assist clients to live as independently as possible, following care plans and providing practical and emotional support within homes and the community.

Qualifications

  • Attitude - a desire to help and support others, achieving excellence in all you do.
  • Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is desirable, although not essential
  • Healthcare qualifications are advantageous
  • Most positions require a full NZ drivers' licence and your own reliable transport

We are currently looking for empathetic and passionate Support Workers across our different services including Community & Rehabilitation, Disability and Social Services. Whether you are looking for flexibility around other commitments or would prefer regular rostered shifts, we have a variety of permanent full-time and part-time options on offer.

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

  • Meal preparation
  • Community outings and integration
  • Giving medication
  • Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
  • Home management

You will earn between $ 23.97 - 29.68 per hour, depending on experience and qualification.
