Job summary

HealthCare New Zealand – Christchurch, part of New Zealand's largest community healthcare provider, is seeking Support Workers to assist clients in their homes and communities. Flexible shifts include AM and PM blocks, with weekend availability in Avonside, Dallington, Edgeware and surrounding areas.

You will follow care plans to help clients achieve independence, with responsibilities ranging from meal prep to personal care and medication assistance within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Attitude - a desire to help and support others, achieving excellence in all you do.
• Experience in healthcare or caregiving is advantageous.
• Healthcare qualifications are advantageous.
• A full NZ drivers' licence and reliable transport are required for most roles.

We are currently seeking candidates located in Avonside, Dallington, Edgeware, Mairehau, Merivale, Richmond, Shirley, Strowan, or Wainoni who are available to work Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, are flexible with travel.

AM 7.30am -12pm

PM 5pm - 8pm

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
