Qualifications

  • NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2) or willingness to undertake this qualification.
  • Full NZ driver's licence and competency with Microsoft applications.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality support in line with individual care plans.
  • Support clients in a culturally safe and mana-enhancing way.
  • Encourage independence and participation in everyday activities.
  • Follow care plans, policies and organisational procedures.
  • Collaborate with health professionals, clients and whānau.
  • Use technology for communication and service administration.

We are looking for compassionate and reliable SupportWorkers to join our team. Working under the direction of a Registered HealthProfessional, you will provide safe, high-quality and culturally respectfulsupport that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing.


About the role


As a Support Worker, you will play an important part inhelping people remain active participants in their own care and continue livingfulfilling lives within their communities.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Providingsafe, high-quality support in line with individual care plans

  • Supportingclients in a respectful, culturally safe and mana-enhancing way

  • Encouragingindependence and participation in everyday activities

  • Promotingdignity, choice and quality of life

  • Followingcare plans, policies and organisational procedures

  • Workingcollaboratively with health professionals, clients and their whānau

  • Usingtechnology effectively for communication and service administration

  • Participatingin ongoing training and skills development

  • Identifyingbarriers and opportunities to improve access, experience and outcomes forclients

  • Contributingto inclusive, responsive and effective service delivery

  • Undertakingother reasonable duties as agreed with your manager

What you'll need



  • NZCertificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2), or a willingness toundertake this qualification with support to progress through Level 3 andpotentially Level 4

  • Acurrent full New Zealand driver's licence

  • Competencywith Microsoft applications and similar software

  • Acommitment to ongoing learning and professional development


It would be an advantage if you have



  • Previouscaregiving or support work experience in the community, hospital oraged-care environment

  • Experiencesupporting people with complex or changing needs

  • Anunderstanding of person-centred care and the importance of supportingpeople to maintain their independence
