Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis to cover annual leave and sick leave across our health services.

In this role you will provide safe, high-quality and culturally respectful support under the direction of a Registered Health Professional, helping people stay independent, engaged in everyday life and connected to their communities.

  • Utilise technology for communication and service administration.
  • Participate in ongoing training and skills development.
  • Identify barriers and opportunities to improve access and outcomes.
  • Contribute to inclusive, responsive service delivery.
  • Undertake other duties as advised by your manager.

About the role

As a Support Worker, you will play an important part inhelping people remain active participants in their own care and continue livingfulfilling lives within their communities.

Your responsibilities will include:

What you’ll need
  • NZCertificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2), or a willingness toundertake this qualification with support to progress through Level 3 andpotentially Level 4
  • Acurrent full New Zealand driver's licence
  • Competencywith Microsoft applications and similar software
  • Acommitment to ongoing learning and professional development
It would be an advantage if you have
  • Previouscaregiving or support work experience in the community, hospital oraged-care environment
  • Experiencesupporting people with complex or changing needs
  • Anunderstanding of person-centred care and the importance of supportingpeople to maintain their independence
