Job summary

Healthvision is a family-owned homecare, community nursing, and rehabilitation provider in Aotearoa seeking resilient, compassionate support workers in Wellington. You will help people live independently by providing personal care, assisting with daily activities, and helping access community services.

The role offers permanent opportunities with part-time or full-time hours. Pay ranges NZD 24.61–31.40 per hour, with flexible rosters, travel allowances, and opportunities to pursue Level 3 and 4

Qualifications

  • Ideally, prior personal care experience.
  • Familiarity with complex medical conditions (e.g., spinal injuries, traumatic brain injury).
  • Access to a car and a full New Zealand Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to drive a mobility van (training provided).
  • Flexibility to travel within Wellington region and work a rotating roster.
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand.

  • Assisting with household management and meal preparation.
  • Supporting exercise programmes.
  • Assisting with accessing the community.
  • Medication support.
  • Moving and handling hoists and manual transfers.

  • Bowel, Bladder, and Catheter cares
  • Moving and handling hoists and manual transfers
  • Medication support

We offer a range of employment opportunities including part-time and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process.

Days of work:

As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am, pm and weekend work. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.

We are looking for people who are comfortable with covering from early morning and mid-to-late afternoon evening shifts and weekends from 7am to 10pm.

The duration of these hours may vary, ranging from shorter to longer periods, depending on the specific needs of the people we support. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.

You are a calm but confident-natured individual who can demonstrate resilience and understand the challenges of service users, you have life experience or a passion to develop your current skills into a new industry.

There are many responsibilities associated with being a support worker which can be challenging and fulfilling. It is rewarding when you are part of the support that enables a person to live their best lives in the community.

The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites):
  • Ideally, prior personal care experience is preferred,
  • Familiarity with complex medical conditions, like spinal injuries, traumatic brain injury
  • Access to a car and ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is a must)
  • Ability to drive a mobility van (training available)
  • Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial and those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered (comprehensive training can be provided)
  • Flexibility to travel anywhere in Wellington region
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand is a must.

  • Pay Band: $24.61 to $31.40 per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 - hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
