Job summary

Healthvision is recruiting a part-time support worker in Riverton, Southland. The role focuses on person-centered care, helping people live independently in the community with dignity and respect.

You will assist with daily activities, personal care, and community access while working within rotating AM/PM shifts and weekends. A compassionate, reliable team player is essential.

Qualifications

• Prior personal care experience preferred but not essential.
• Experience working with children is advantageous.
• Willingness to rotate AM/PM/weekend rosters.
• Full NZ Driver's Licence is a must.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal cares (showering, bathing).
• Assist with household management and meal preparation.
• Assist with accessing the community.
• Provide bowel, bladder, and catheter care support.
• Support medication administration.
• Assist with moving and handling (hoists and transfers).

Job Location: Riverton, Southland

Employment Type: Part-Time

We offer a range of employment opportunities including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process.

Days of Work: As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including AM, PM, and weekend work. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.

The duration of these hours may vary, ranging from shorter to longer periods, depending on the specific needs of the people we support.

The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites)

• Ideally prior personal care experience is preferred, but it is not essential


• Experience working with children (this may be in education, as a nanny, or in other environments)


• A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial and those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered (comprehensive training can be provided)


• Flexibility and reliability to work on a rotating roster


• Access to a reliable car and ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is a must)


• Legal right to work in New Zealand is a must

• Pay Band: $25.22 - $31.40 per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 - hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
