Job summary

Healthvision in Gisborne is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Support Worker to help people we support live independently at home and in the community. You will assist with personal cares, meal preparation, gentle exercise, and helping people access community activities.

A calm and resilient approach is essential. A full New Zealand Driver's Licence is required, with flexibility to travel and work on a rotating roster, including weekends. You must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

Qualifications

  • Previous healthcare experience is an advantage and those new to health care will be considered (training can be provided).
  • Own car and ability to drive; NZ Driver's Licence is a must.
  • Flexibility to travel to support people in different locations.
  • Flexibility to work on rotating rosters (including weekends).
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with personal cares (showering, bathing).
  • Assisting with household management and meal preparation.
  • Supporting exercise programmes.
  • Assisting with accessing the community.
  • Bowel, bladder and catheter care as needed.
  • Moving and handling hoists and manual transfers.
  • Medication support.

Job Location: Gisborne Employment Type: Part-Time

We offer a range of employment opportunities including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process.

Days of work: As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am, pm and weekend work. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process.

The duration of these hours may vary, ranging from shorter to longer periods, depending on the specific needs of the people we support.
