Job summary

IDEA Services supports adults with intellectual disabilities to live independently in their own homes and participate in their communities. As a Support Worker, you will assist clients with complex needs, manage risk, and provide personalised care during night hours, including sleepovers and weekend work.

Relevant caregiving experience is preferred, but a flexible attitude and strong communication skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or personal care for adults preferred.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepovers.
• Full NZ driver’s license required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable using computers and tablets daily.

As a Support Worker you will be supporting clients with complex needs, managing risk, ensuring safety, and providing individual care throughout the night.Previous relevant experience is preferred, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with varied life experience and an open-minded attitude.

• Preferably previous experience in caregiving or providing personal care for adults.
• A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Full NZ driver's license.
