Job summary

IDEA Services supports adults with intellectual disabilities to live independently in their own homes and participate in their communities in Hawke's Bay. As a Support Worker, you will help clients with complex needs, manage risk, and provide safe, compassionate care during the night.

The role suits someone physically active with resilience to challenging behaviours. Previous caregiving experience is preferred, and a full NZ driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Preferably previous experience in caregiving or providing personal care for adults.
• A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Availability to work a range of shifts, including weekends and occasional sleepover shifts.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Full NZ driver's license.

• Casual opportunities available
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts - mornings, evenings, occasional overnight shifts and weekends
• $24.68 - $30.13 per hour depending on relevant qualifications

As a Support Worker you will be supporting clients with complex needs, managing risk, ensuring safety, and providing individual care throughout the night. We are looking for someone physically active who has the resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviours. Previous relevant experience is preferred.
