Job summary

IDEA Services is seeking a Support Worker to help people with intellectual disabilities live independently in their own homes across Taupo and surrounding areas. You will support clients with complex needs, manage risk, and provide overnight care with safety and compassion.

Flexible shifts including weekends and sleepovers are required, along with a Full NZ driver’s license and comfort using computers and tablets. Prior caregiving experience is preferred but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or personal care for adults.
• Calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Available for flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepovers.
• Proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Full NZ driver's license.

Responsibilities

As a Support Worker you will be supporting clients with complex needs, managing risk, ensuring safety, and providing individual care throughout the night.Previous relevant experience is preferred, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with varied life experience and an open-minded attitude.

• Preferably previous experience in caregiving or providing personal care for adults.
• A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and sleepover shifts.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Full NZ driver's license.
