Job summary

IDEA Services supports people with intellectual disabilities to live independently at home and in the community. As a Support Worker you will assist clients in their own homes, help them achieve goals, manage risk, ensure safety and deliver individual care with compassion.

We value varied life experience and a calm, flexible attitude. The role requires weekend availability, a full NZ driver1s license, and comfort with using computers and tablets.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving experience preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable with using computers and tablets daily.
• Full NZ drivers license required.

IDEA Services supports people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy great lives at home and as part of their community.You will be supporting people with intellectual disabilities living in their own homes to achieve their goals and aspirations.This is meaningful work where you can be creative and make every day interesting in ways that are important to others.

As a Support Worker you will be supporting clients with complex needs, managing risk, ensuring safety, and providing individual care. Previous relevant experience is preferred, and more importantly, we are looking for someone with varied life experience and an open-minded attitude.

• Preferably previous experience in caregiving or providing personal care for adults.
• A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
• Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
• Full NZ driver's license.
