Job summary

NZCL in Rotorua is seeking permanent part-time Support Workers to help the people we support in their own homes and in Rotorua Residential Services. You will be part of a team providing a safe environment where clients can build confidence, learn new skills, and engage with others in the community.

The role involves assisting with daily life, meals, personal cares, and activities like swimming, with possible overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviours.
• Full driver’s license is essential.
• Ability to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support people with daily life activities and help them do the things they want to do, such as swimming and personal cares.
• Work as part of a team providing 24/7 support on shifts or rosters.
• Assist with meals, household tasks, and teach life skills in a respectful, empowering manner.

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills. - The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.
