Job summary

NZCL in Auckland is seeking energetic and motivated Support Workers to help people with disabilities live independently at home. This permanent full-time role offers variety in shifts, travel within the Auckland area, and opportunities for training towards NZQA Health & Wellbeing.

Applicants must be residents or hold valid NZ work permits and have a full drivers license. Join a team dedicated to building confidence, friendships, and community participation for the people we support.

Qualifications

• Full NZ drivers license required.
• Healthcare or disability support experience preferred.
• Willingness to work 24/7 rostering including overnights.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living activities in their home.
• Assist with meals, personal cares and household tasks.
• Provide transport and accompany clients to activities outside the home.
• Contribute to a safe, respectful, and empowering care environment.

We are looking for permanent Full time Support Workers for our West and Central Auckland Residential Services.

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills. - The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

• People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenges behaviours.
• Full driver's license is essential.
• Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.

Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
