Job summary

NZCL is seeking energetic Support Workers to help people with disabilities in their own homes in Christchurch. The role is permanent and part-time, with regular weekend shifts and potential sleepover payments on some rosters.

You will provide practical support to enable people to live independently and engage in activities they enjoy. Applicants should be passionate about helping others, with prior healthcare experience preferred.

We are looking for permanent part-time Support Workers to help the people we support in our Christchurch Residential Services. As these roles involve regular weekend shifts, weekend availability is essential.

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills. The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

• People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenges behaviours.
• Full driver's license is essential.
• Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own.
• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
