Job summary

NZCL is seeking a Part Time Support Worker in Havelock to support people with disabilities in their own homes. You will help with daily activities, meals, personal care, and community outings while fostering independence and confidence.

Join a dedicated team, with rostered shifts including overnights on occasion. Competitive hourly pay from 23.97 to 29.68 NZD, plus free training toward NZQA Health & Wellbeing and access to an Employee Assistance program.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting people with daily living tasks.
• Full driver’s license is essential.
• NZ residency or valid NZ work permit required.
• Willing to work overnight shifts, weekends, and be flexible with rosters.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily activities such as meals, personal cares, and household tasks.
• Assist with transport and community participation.
• Provide safe, respectful, and empowering support in the home setting.

This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and to do the things they want to do such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks and teaching life skills. - The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support with the potential of additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenges behaviours.
• Full driver's license is essential.

• Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
