Job summary

HealthCare NZ is seeking a Duty/Support Worker to assist clients in their homes and community in Eketahuna, with flexible shifts across Week 1 and Week 2. You will follow care plans, provide practical and emotional support, and help clients achieve independence.

We offer NZQA-funded qualifications and a supportive team, with opportunities to gain experience across aged care, disability, mental health and rehabilitation. Must have NZ work rights and a valid driver’s licence.

• Previous healthcare or care-giving experience would be advantageous
• Healthcare qualifications are advantageous
• Most positions require a full NZ drivers' licence and your own reliable transport

We are currently seeking candidates located Eketahuna, who are available to below mentioned shifts and flexible to travel.

Week 1

• Mon: OFF
• Tue: 8-9 AM, 4-5 PM
• Wed: 8-9 AM, 4-5 PM
• Thu: 8-9 AM
• Fri: 8-9 AM, 12-1 PM, 4-6 PM
• Sat: 8-10 AM, 5-6 PM
• Sun: 8-10 AM, 5-6 PM

Week 2

• Mon: OFF
• Tue: 8-9 AM, 4-5 PM
• Wed: 8-9 AM, 4-5 PM
• Thu: 8-9 AM
• Fri: 8-9 AM, 12-1 PM, 4-6 PM
• Sat: 8-10 AM, 5-6 PM
• Sun: 8-10 AM, 5-6 PM

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
