Job summary

HealthCare NZ, a leading provider of in-home and community-based health, rehabilitation, nursing, mental health and disability support, seeks a Support Worker in Wellington. You will help clients live independently at home and in the community, following care plans and delivering practical and emotional support.

You will assist with meals, personal care, medication administration and daily activities, while engaging with clients to achieve their goals and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Desire to help and support others and achieve excellence in care.
• Healthcare experience is advantageous for this role.
• Formal healthcare qualifications are advantageous.
• A full NZ driver’s licence and reliable transport are usually required.

We are currently seeking candidates located Wellington city,who are available to work Monday to Friday between 8am to 9.30pm and flexible to travel.

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
