Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is seeking casual Youth Support roles in Rotorua to assist rangatahi on their mental health and wellbeing journeys. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, empowering environment where young people can build confidence and life skills.

The role requires a Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification (or higher), experience in mental health or addiction, and a current First Aid CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

Qualifications

• A Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate or higher.
• Experience in mental health and/or addiction sector.
• Experience working with youth.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Full New Zealand driver’s licence and valid working rights.
• Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR) or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support rangatahi in mental health, wellbeing and life-skills development.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, empowering care.
• Be flexible to cover a range of shifts including weekends.

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is a national provider of mental health, addiction, disability, offender rehabilitation, wellbeing and housing services. Our Youth Service supports rangatahi on their mental health, disability, and wellbeing journeys. Working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you'll help create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where young people can build confidence, develop life skills, and work towards greater independence.

Our Youth Service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with shifts across:

• 7:00am - 3:30pm
• 3:00pm - 11:30pm
• 11:00pm - 7:30am (wake-over)

This is a casual position, so flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends, evenings, and wake-over shifts, is essential to meet service needs.

To be successful in these roles, you'll bring:

• A Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate (or higher)
• Experience within the mental health and/or addiction sector
• Experience working with youth
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A full New Zealand driver's licence and valid working rights
• A current First Aid Certificate (including CPR), or willingness to obtain one
• Hourly Rate $25.67 - $30.52 (placement will depend on the level of your qualification)
