Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is seeking a Casual Support Worker to join our Community Mobile service in Gisborne. You will coach, mentor, and empower tāngata whaiora to develop life skills and work toward greater independence, with a focus on respectful, person-centered care.

Shifts run Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm, offering flexible work-life balance. A Level 4+ qualification in Health & Wellbeing, Mental Health, or Addiction (or willingness to work toward) and First Aid with CPR are

Qualifications

• Level 4+ qualification in Health & Wellbeing, Mental Health, or Addiction (or willingness to work toward).
• Mental health experience.
• Be culturally respectful and non-judgmental.
• Full NZ driver’s licence and right to work in NZ.
• Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR (or be willing to complete this).
• Ongoing learning, development, and training.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor, and empower tāngata whaiora to develop essential life skills.
• Help individuals set personal goals and work toward greater independence.
• Provide hands-on support within the Community Mobile service.
• Contribute to a supportive team culture that celebrates success.

In this hands-on role, you'll coach, mentor, and empower tāngata whaiora, helping them develop essential life skills, set personal goals, and work toward greater independence.

We currently have a casual Support Worker position available in our Community Mobile service.

The service operates Monday to Friday 7:00am to 7:00pm.

Pay: $25.67 – $30.52 per hour (depending on qualifications)

• Level 4+ qualification in Health & Wellbeing, Mental Health, or Addiction (or willingness to work toward)
• Mental health experience
