Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa in Ranui, Auckland, is seeking a permanent Support Worker to join the Dual Disability Service. You will support tāngata whaiora with high and complex needs, help with daily living skills, and contribute to wellbeing plans.

You will work a 24/7 roster with varied shifts, collaborating with whānau, clinical teams, and community providers, and maintaining accurate client records. You will apply a respectful, person-centred approach.

Qualifications

  • First Aid certification including CPR is required or willing to obtain.
  • Experience in mental health, disability, addiction, or related social services.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support networks.

Responsibilities

  • Support tāngata whaiora to work towards their individual goals and wellbeing plans.
  • Assist with daily living skills, community participation, and meaningful activities.
  • Monitor wellbeing and maintain accurate client documentation and records.
  • Collaborate with whānau, clinical teams, and community providers to deliver coordinated support.
  • Contribute to quality improvement activities and follow organisational policies and frameworks.

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is a national provider of mental health, addiction, disability, offender rehabilitation, wellbeing, and housing services. We have a permanent Support Worker opportunity within our Dual Disability Service (DDS) in Ranui. This service supports tāngata whaiora (people seeking wellness) with high and complex needs, including dual disability and behaviours that require specialist support. You will work as part of a 24/7 roster covering 7.00am to 3.30pm, 3.00pm to 11.30pm, and 11.00pm to 7.30am shifts, including wakeover and sleepover shifts.

You will:

  • Support tāngata whaiora to work towards their individual goals and wellbeing plans.
  • Assist with daily living skills, community participation, and meaningful activities.
  • Monitor wellbeing and maintain accurate client documentation and records.
  • Collaborate with whānau, clinical teams, and community providers to deliver coordinated support.
  • Contribute to quality improvement activities and follow organisational policies and frameworks.

You're patient, resilient, and committed to supporting people with diverse needs. You enjoy working as part of a team, build positive relationships, and take a respectful, person-centred approach to your work.

You will bring:

  • NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (or equivalent), or a commitment to obtaining the relevant qualification within the required timeframe.
  • Experience working in mental health, disability, addiction, or a related social services environment.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support networks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to engage effectively with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures.
  • Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR, or be willing and able to complete this.
