Job summary

Pathways Health Ltd is hiring a part-time Support Worker for Porirua, delivering wellbeing-focused support to up to 16 individuals in a 24-hour housing and recovery service. The role runs 25 hours per week, Tue-Sat, 9:00am-2:30pm with flexible start/end times, and is based in Porirua, Wellington.

You will partner with external agencies to support outcomes, complete documentation as a key worker, and help participants gain independence.

Qualifications

• Current NZ full driver’s licence required.
• First aid certificate required or willingness to obtain one.
• Level 4 NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (NZCHW) or equivalent, or studying toward this qualification.
• Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi required.

Responsibilities

• Provide wellbeing-focused support to tāngata whai ora.
• Collaborate with agencies (MSD, housing, employment) to support outcomes.
• Complete required documentation as a key worker.
• Help tāngata whai ora achieve goals for independence and life satisfaction.
• Participate in maintenance tasks like garden work and site upkeep.

Become a valued member of our team, contributing to our 24‑hour housing and recovery service, where you'll provide essential support to a maximum of 16 individuals. As a Support Worker, you'll deliver comprehensive assistance to tāngata whai ora throughout the morning and into the afternoon, fostering their well‑being and journey towards recovery.

This is a permanent, 25 hours per week role. You will be working Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00am to 2:30pm (start and end times can be flexible), based in Porirua, Wellington.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting activities that are wellbeing focused with our tāngata whai ora
• Partnering with agencies (e.g. MSD, employment, housing) alongside tāngata whai ora, to support and advocate for great outcomes.
• Completing requireddocumentation, including recording activities and progressas a key worker for our tāngata whai ora.
• Developing and supporting tāngata whai ora to achieve intentional goals that increase independence and life satisfaction.
• Participating in maintenance activities as required, like supporting tāngata whai ora with their vegetable gardens and general site cleanliness and tidiness.

We are interested to hear from people from all backgrounds and life experiences who demonstrate a caring nature towards others and are prepared to work within a recovery and trauma-informed way.

You will also have the following:

• A current and clean NZ full driver’s licence.
• A current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
• Applicants must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or are currently studying towards this qualification or a recognised equivalent.
• Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
