Job summary

Pathways Health Ltd is seeking dedicated support workers to assist tangata whai ora in Kuripuni Street with daily living skills and community integration. The roles operate across two schedules, offering stable, permanent hours in a community healthcare setting.

Ideal candidates are driven, supportive and team-oriented, capable of managing fast-paced environments while upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments. Applicants will possess NZCHW Level 4 or be willing to start training promptly.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • Must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent; willing to commence study within six months and complete within two years.

Responsibilities

  • Help tangata whai ora with daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, gardening).
  • Attend appointments with clients.
  • Support tangata whai ora with community activities.
  • Update and maintain filing, first aid kits, and emergency kits.
  • Provide services as part of a 24-hour service.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

Kuripuni Street is a service which provides support to tangata whai ora in the community setting. Tangata whai ora are supported to live independently to reach their goals and work towards living in the community without support.

This role will be suitable for someone who is driven, supportive and works well in a fast paced, team environment.

Some responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting with daily living skills such as, cooking cleaning and gardening
  • Attending appointments
  • Supporting tanagta whai ora with community activites
  • Updating and maintain the filing, first aid kits, emergency kits
  • These services operate as a 24-hour service.
  • We strongly encourage Māori and Pacifica to apply. We also encourage people with lived experience to apply.

Role 1: Sunday to Thursday, 7.00am to 3.30pm (40 hours per week).

Role 2: Friday to Saturday, 7.00am to 3.30pm, and Sunday to Monday, 3.00pm to 11.30pm (32 hours per week).

  • You must hold a current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • Applicants must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent. Alternatively, you will be willing to commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement.
  • You must hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
