Job summary

Pathways in Blenheim is seeking compassionate casual Support Workers to assist with mental health and wellbeing support across residential, acute, and mobile services. You’ll help with daily tasks, attend appointments, and support community connections, guided by recovery-focused and trauma-informed approaches.

Qualifications

  • A Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one.
  • A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • A Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (units 6400, 6401 and 6402), or willingness to obtain one within your first three months.
  • Confidence working within a Māori context, including an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga Māori and Te Reo Māori.

Responsibilities

  • Support people with daily living tasks such as grocery shopping, budgeting, cooking or gardening.
  • Help clients attend appointments and reconnect with their communities.
  • Promote recovery-focused, trauma-informed and evidence-based practice to support wellbeing.

Job description

Summary

We're looking for compassionate and motivated Casual Support Workers to join our Blenheim team. Whether you're available for mornings, evenings, weekends or awake night shifts, you'll play an important role in supporting people on their mental health and wellbeing journey.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

No two shifts look the same. One day you might be supporting someone with grocery shopping, budgeting, cooking or gardening. Another day could involve helping someone attend appointments, reconnect with their community, or work towards personal goals.

Whatever the task, you'll bring encouragement, understanding, and a genuine desire to help people thrive. Our approach is grounded in recovery-focused, trauma-informed and evidence-based practice. You'll be supported to bring these values to life every day while promoting hope, independence and wellbeing.

You might be working any of the shifts, on any day or night of the week, and you could be working in the residential and acute service, or our mobile service - it all depends on our need at the time.

You'll also have:

  • A Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one
