Job summary

UniLodge is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Coordinator to support its student accommodation in Ilam, Christchurch. You will handle everyday repairs, routine maintenance, and assist with inspections and grounds upkeep, while coordinating with contractors and keeping records online.

The role requires practical maintenance experience, safe tool use, a NZ Class 1 driver license, and the ability to work in a team environment. Work rights in NZ are essential and a trade qualification is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, trade support, caretaking or similar practical work.
• Confidence using tools safely and knowing when specialist help is needed.
• Good computer skills and clear communication.
• A current full Class 1 driver licence valid in New Zealand.
• The ability to safely undertake physical work.
• A friendly, respectful approach to working in students' homes.
• Able to work within a team environment.
• Must have New Zealand working rights.
• A trade qualification is welcome, but not essential.
• Must be willing to obtain police vetting (at your own cost).

Responsibilities

• Complete everyday repairs, minor painting, plastering and carpentry.
• Carry out routine maintenance and prepare rooms for arriving students.
• Carry out monthly Building Warrant of Fitness Inspections
• Help with grounds upkeep, rubbish removal and shared spaces.
• Use a computer for regular on line training, receive jobs, update work orders, save and review inspection forms and send emails.
• Drive between properties, collect supplies and assist contractors.
