UniLodge Christchurch is seeking a Night Manager to oversee all overnight operations, ensuring residents receive a consistently exceptional living environment and handling administrative and student support tasks.

The role features a rotating 40-hour week from 5:00pm to 8:00am, with duties including incident management, after-hours check-ins, and mentoring residents to uphold service standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on operational safety and incident management in a residential setting.
• Front Office supervision/management in student accommodation or hotel environment.
• Enjoys nightly/evening shifts and nocturnal work.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to resolve conflicts.
• Focus on service quality and delivering outstanding experiences.
• Willing to obtain Police Vetting Check (at your own cost).

Responsibilities

• Rotate 40 hours per week across Monday to Sunday, 5.00pm–8.00am.
• Manage, record and resolve incidents that arise while on duty.
• Represent as after-hours management and oversee building operations.
• Mentor residents and be a friendly, open point of contact for welfare.
• Assist with after-hours check-ins and customer service inquiries.
• Maintain a full, detailed log of all incidents and call-outs per shift.
• Complete all back or front-office handovers from the day team.
• Perform perimeter checks, enforce quiet hours, handle emergencies and lockouts.
• Respond to student incidents during the shift.

We are seeking a Night Manager to join our operations in Christchurch, New Zealand. You will be responsible for all overnight operations ensuring residents receive a consistently exceptional experience. You shall be performing various administrative and student support services and fostering a safe, secure and healthy living environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Rotating Roster: 40 hours per week across Monday to Sunday, working 8 hour shifts between 5.00pm and 8.00am.
• Manage, record and promptly resolve issues or emergencies that arise while on duty
• Represent as after-hours management, taking full responsibility of the building operations
• Act as a “Mentor” to residents and form a friendly and open point of contact for assistance, information and welfare
• Assist with after-hours check in’s & customer service enquiries
• Maintaining a full and detailed log of all incidents and call-outs throughout each shift
• Complete all back or front-office duties as handed over by day team
• Perform perimeter checks, manage in-house quiet hours, attend to emergencies and lockouts
• Respond to student incidents over the shift

ABOUT YOU

• have experience in providing hands on operational safety and incident management in a residential setting
• previous Front Office experience in a Supervisor or Manager position within a student accommodation or hotel environment
• love living nocturnally and thrive off working an evening/night-time roster
• have highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to problem-solve and manage conflict
• have a focus on service and quality with the passion to deliver outstanding experiences
• be willing to obtain Police Vetting Check (at your own cost)
