Students engage with our team through multiple channels, primarily phone and email, and you’ll be responsible for delivering responsive, accurate, and friendly support. You will also connect students with specialist teams across the University and collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure students receive the best possible experience.

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems, and making a meaningful impact on the student experience.

The role is based at 49 Symonds Street, Auckland CBD.

These are three full-time positions (37.5 hours per week):

Reporting to the Team Leader Recruitment and Retention, you will join a professional, friendly, and collaborative team that genuinely enjoys working together.

The Student Experience Centre team is passionate about delivering excellent service and supporting students at key moments in their university journey. We value teamwork, open communication, and the contributions each team member brings as we work together to exceed the expectations of the students we support.

You are a confident communicator who enjoys working with people and providing exceptional service. You bring strong listening skills, empathy, and the ability to explain complex information clearly.

You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple systems, and collaborating with colleagues across the organisation to find the best solutions for students.

  • 2–3 years’ experience delivering high-quality customer service, including managing complex enquiries
  • 1–2 years’ experience in an outbound call centre environment
  • Experience working with and supporting a diverse range of clients or communities
  • The ability to develop subject matter expertise and confidently provide accurate information
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Confidence navigating multiple digital systems and platforms
  • Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills

You will also demonstrate Kia Whakamana i te Tangata — acknowledging, maintaining, and restoring the mana and dignity of individuals, whānau, and communities in your interactions.
