Job summary

Project Structure Ltd in Christchurch is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer with 2+ years of experience to design, analyze, and deliver structural solutions for architectural homes and renovations. You will work closely with architects and construction teams.

You will gain on-site exposure, mentorship from four CPEng-qualified directors, and participate in on-site reviews while adhering to NZ building codes. October 2026 start preferred.

Qualifications

• Washington Accord degree in Structural Engineering.
• At least 2 years of demonstrated experience as a Structural Engineer, preferably within the New Zealand consulting industry.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software, such as Spacegass.
• Strong familiarity with New Zealand building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities, combined with effective communication skills.
• Working towards or possessing CPEng status is preferred, but not essential.
• Start Date in October 2026.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and deliver structural solutions for architectural homes and renovations.
• Conduct structural design and analysis with exposure to shallow geotechnical testing and retaining walls.
• Ensure compliance with NZ building codes, regulations, and standards.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Collaborate with architects, PMs, and construction teams for smooth implementation.
