Job summary

NZDF is seeking a Training and Development Manager to lead the creation and continuous improvement of learning programs across Defence Shared Services Group. You will blend strategic leadership with hands-on programme design, facilitation and stakeholder engagement to build organisational capability across NZDF.

You will develop learning solutions, evaluate training effectiveness and foster a culture of continuous development while collaborating with leaders and subject matter experts.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, facilitating and evaluating learning programmes.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders to identify capability needs.
• People leadership experience is advantageous.
• Expertise in adult learning and capability development.
• Proven track record in large or complex organisations.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of training and capability framework.
• Develop targeted learning solutions from capability needs.
• Design, develop and evaluate training programmes and resources.
• Facilitate learning across online, hybrid and face-to-face environments.
• Provide expert advice on adult learning principles and development.
• Monitor and evaluate learning effectiveness to drive improvement.
• Build relationships with NZDF leaders and SMEs.
• Lead and support a small training function to deliver quality outcomes.
