Job summary

New Zealand Government's Defence Technology Accelerator (Def TA) in Auckland is seeking an experienced security policy lead to advise NZDF senior leaders and stakeholders on governance, risk, and regulatory matters. You will shape strategic direction, translate requirements into policy, and deliver surveys and risk assessments to support Def TA and its partner company.

You will manage security projects end-to-end, monitor emerging risks, and build strong relationships across government, industry

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in protective security across personnel, physical and information security.
• Experience applying NZPSR/NZISM/NZDF policies in complex environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across government, industry, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and review of security policy across Def TA.
• Provide high-quality advice on security, governance and regulatory matters to senior leaders.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical policy solutions.
• Lead security projects from inception to evaluation.
• Monitor emerging security risks to inform policy direction.
