Job summary

The Department of Conservation - Te Papa Atawhai in Hamilton CBD is seeking a capable administrator to support the Statutory Process Team with capturing Permissions applications across New Zealand. This 35-hour-per-week fixed-term role runs until 30 June 2027 and offers exposure to diverse projects, from cycle paths to wildlife management, in a busy, high‑scrutiny environment.

You will work with senior staff, demonstrate integrity under pressure, and build a profile in conservation

Qualifications

  • Experienced administrator with top-notch customer service.
  • Tech savvy and able to learn new systems confidently.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office for document management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player with a calm under pressure.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Background in technical administration or statutory processes is beneficial.
  • Willingness to learn Māori tikanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
