We are looking for a technical administration star to support our Statutory Process Team (SPT) with the capture of all Permissions applications received from across New Zealand. These range from the construction of shared cycle paths, to catching and handling our native kiwi, through to the filming of movies and commercials you see on TV. It’s a fast-paced role in a high‑scrutiny environment, in a motivated team with changing priorities and complex workloads. You’ll need to be confident solving issues under pressure while collaborating with the team and more widely. This is a chance to build your profile, gain exposure to different aspects of our work. The role is part of a small, tight‑knit, office‑based team in Hamilton CBD and is not directly customer facing.

The team follows strict processes with tight timeframes, so you’ll need mental agility, with the ability to remain calm and level‑headed when under pressure. A commitment to Treaty partnership and confidence engaging with iwi and tangata whenua is key.
DOC is committed to a culture where everyone can participate, thrive, and grow. We’re driven by our values and behaviours, and are working towards being an organisation that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive by default. We also support flexible working arrangements for our kaimahi across Aotearoa, with options considered based on the role and in discussion with your leader.
