Job summary

John Paul II High School is seeking a certificated teacher to lead a new small-group literacy and numeracy programme for students in Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura. The role focuses on ORS and learners with additional needs, working in a dedicated classroom with Learning Support Assistants.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced teacher, with expertise in ORS and students with additional needs, to lead a new small-group teaching setting focused on literacy and numeracy. This is a rare chance to shape a programme from the ground up, working in a dedicated classroom and supported by experienced Learning Support Assistants.

You will bring unconditional positive regard for every student, a deep commitment to their dignity and mana, and the skill to adapt teaching to a wide range of individual strengths and needs. You will work closely with the LSC, learning support assistants, teachers and specialist services, and walk alongside students as they build the skills and confidence to achieve independence.
