We are seeking a skilled teacher with strengths in learning support to join our team in 2027.
The learning support aspect of the role involves supporting teachers to meet the needs of ākonga requiring additional support, including ORS-funded students.
The successful applicant will be able to develop practical learner support plans, navigate referral pathways, and work effectively with whānau and external agencies. Strong coaching and mentoring skills are essential, alongside the ability to help teachers access the support and resources they need.
The specialist teacher role includes delivering targeted intervention programmes. In 2027, the intervention focus will be mathematics (MAP).
The specialist teacher role will be part of the SENCO team at Tauranga Primary School and work with our DP and AP to ensure all learning support needs in our kura are met. The DP and AP also have learning support responsibilities within the school.
