Job summary

Sofitel Spa Queenstown is seeking a dedicated Massage Therapist for a full-time on-site role within our luxury hotel team. You will deliver personalised spa journeys and high-end treatments to guests, upholding our standards of service and care.

Responsibilities include providing massage therapies, using diverse techniques, and building lasting relationships with local clients while working flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Certificate in Massage Therapy (NZQA equivalent).
• Previous experience in a luxury spa or hotel environment preferred.
• Minimum 12 months experience in similar role.
• Experience with L’Occitane treatments or other luxury brands.
• Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and public holidays.

• Provide effective massage treatments using techniques that promote relaxation and relieve muscle tension.
• Use acupressure or Shiatsu and aids to assist recovery.
• Carry out the beauty treatments to a high professional standard.
• Deliver five-star treatments with high attention to detail.

Job Description

We invite you to step into our award winning Sofitel Spa, and deliver uniquely personalised Sofitel Spa journeys and luxury treatments to our guests.

• Provide effective massage treatments, using a range of techniques that promote relaxation, improve circulation, relieve muscle tension and enhance sports performance
• Use other techniques, such as acupressure or Shiatsu, and complementary aids, such as infra-red lamps, wet compresses, ice, essential oils, and herbal and mineral therapies, to assist recovery
• Carry out the beauty treatments to a high professional standard
• Enjoy delivering five star treatment to our guests, with high attention to detail
• Establish long-term relationships with local clientele and benefit from incentives

Qualifications

You will harness your luxury attitude, with humble excellence, a distinguished presence, and elevated emotional intelligence. Your pride and passion will be complemented by:

• Level 3 Certificate in Massage Therapy (NZQA equivalent)
• Previous experience in a luxury spa or hotel environment is preferred
• Minimum 12 months experience in similar role
• Experience in retail sales would be advantageous
• Experience with LÓccitane treatments or other luxury brands
• Confident with beauty and maintenance treatments
• Ability to work varying shifts including weekends and public holidays
