Job summary

Abbott seeks a Technical Services and Engineering Manager to lead engineering, facilities, utilities, capital project execution and maintenance for the Waikato site. You will provide short and long-range planning, liaise with divisions outside the site, and be part of the site senior leadership team.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering, facilities, utilities, capital project execution and maintenance support to the site; develop asset care roadmaps and allocate technical resources.
• Innovate and execute maintenance and engineering solutions to deliver productivity, quality and cost improvements.
• Attract, develop and retain a diverse, qualified staff; foster engagement and inclusivity through clear communication and recognition.
• Design long- and short-range capital plans to meet capacity objectives and monitor implementation quality.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across functions and resolve cross‑functional challenges to achieve optimal solutions for Abbott.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
• Establish and pursue engineering, facilities, utilities and maintenance objectives; foster innovation and continuous improvement.
• Manage contractors and vendors; oversee site work execution.
• Oversee the department’s financial performance and develop cost‑improvement strategies; manage capital and project expenses.
• Ensure utilities are provided to site operations at all times.
