Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Technical Services and Engineering Manager based in Waikato District, Pokeno. You will lead engineering, facilities, utilities, capital project execution and maintenance support, coordinating with divisions and external groups to drive site performance.

You will develop asset care roadmaps, enable asset reliability, and manage resource allocation and budgets while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

As the Technical Services and Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering, facilities, utilities, capital project execution and maintenance support for the site. Provide short and long-range capital project planning and execution. Act as a liaison between the site and functions outside the site such as Division, Corporate, government agencies and other groups. Serve as a member of the site senior staff leadership team.

What You'll Do

• Lead engineering, facilities, utilities, capital project execution and maintenance support to the site. Develop asset care roadmaps for these areas to ensure expected equipment and process reliability is achieved. Set strategy and manage technical resource allocation process.
• In collaboration with key business functions, innovate and execute maintenance & engine er solutions that deliver productivity, quality and efficiencies that meet and exceed cost improvement targets.
• Attract, develop and retain a diverse qualified staff through effective training, succession planning strategies and ongoing performance feedback. Drive a culture of engagement and inclusivity throughout the organization through clear communication, collaboration and recognition.
• Design site long-range and short-range capital plans ensuring site is equipped with the infrastructure needed to meet or exceed capacity objectives. Monitors quality of implementation against overall project / program / site objectives.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all functions of the organization and resolves cross-functional challenges while influencing these functions to create the best possible solution for Abbott.
• Ensure compliance to all applicable business policies, laws and regulations
• Establish short and long-range engineering, facilities, utilities and maintenance strategic objectives for the site. Fosters an environment of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Manage contractors and vendors executing work at the site.
• Manage the financial performance of the department in accordance with the planned budgets and develop strategies for cost improvement.
• Manage site capital and project expense plan.
• Ensure utilities are provided to site operations at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, Technical discipline, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Master's degree preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple engineering projects in a complex environment.
• Well-organised, technologically adept, and able to drive priorities effectively.
