Job summary

RWR Construction in Auckland is seeking a Site Engineer to join our civil contracting team. You’ll work alongside Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors and gain hands-on exposure to how projects are built across Three Waters, pipelines, and heavy civil works.

On site you’ll plan activities, manage QA/ITPs, develop construction methodology, monitor programme and costs, and coordinate with site crews and subcontractors. You’ll need strong communication, initiative and ownership of your work.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering degree required or equivalent.
• Practical construction experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and take feedback.
• Ability to work on site and engage with crews.

Get closer to the construction and build your career. We’re working with a growing New Zealand civil contractor delivering technically challenging infrastructure projects across Three Waters, pipelines, treatment facilities, structures, piling and specialist civil works.

They self-perform much of their work, with their own crews, plant and engineering capability. For a Site Engineer, that means genuine exposure to how projects are built, rather than simply managing subcontractors.

The role: Working alongside experienced Project Managers, Engineers and Supervisors, you’ll take responsibility for packages of work and get involved across:

• Planning and sequencing site activities
• QA, ITPs and project documentation
• Construction methodology and temporary works
• Programme, productivity and cost monitoring
• Procurement and subcontractor coordination
• Working directly with site crews
• Identifying and solving construction issues
• Supporting commercial and project reporting

What we’re looking for Ideally, you’ll have a Civil Engineering degree and some practical construction experience.

Experience across water, wastewater, drainage, pipelines, structures, piling or heavy civil infrastructure would be useful, but attitude and technical ability are just as important.

You’ll enjoy being on site, getting into the detail and understanding how things are actually built. You’ll be proactive, comfortable taking responsibility and keen to keep developing.
