Job summary

Taranaki in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to Project Engineer level, overseeing day-to-day activities on three waters projects including pump stations, treatment plants and water mains.

The role requires strong knowledge of construction methods, planning and scheduling, financial acumen, and a solid commitment to health, safety and PSM standards.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven NZ water infrastructure site or project engineering experience.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Manager to develop and manage program and budget.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations and guide a team of engineers.
• Monitor construction, conduct site inspections, liaise with client and stakeholders.
• Read contract specs and prepare work method statements.
• Assist Project Manager with design briefs and manage designers.
• Ensure adherence to HSE regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the Project Manager to develop and manage the program and project budget
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations on the construction site, whilst leading a team of engineers
• Construction monitoring, site inspections, and working with the client and other stakeholders
• Read and understand the contract specification and prepare work method statements
• Help the Project Manager prepare design briefs and manage designers
• Ensuring that the project adheres to HSE regulations

What we’re looking for:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a Site or Project Engineer working on Water Infrastructure projects in NZ
• Proficiency with relevant software
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive projects forward
• NZ work rights are essential
