Qualifications

SITE SUPERVISOR / PROJECT SUPERVISOR – CIVIL / WATER / INFRASTRUCTURE

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client is looking for an experienced and confident Site Supervisor / Project Supervisor to lead onsite teams, coordinate works, and help deliver high‑quality civil, water and infrastructure projects across Northland.

This is a hands‑on supervisory role suited to someone who knows how to plan and organise work, lead multiple teams, communicate confidently with clients and subcontractors, and keep projects moving safely, efficiently and within budget.

If you have strong civil construction supervisory experience and enjoy taking ownership of onsite delivery, this could be an excellent opportunity to step into a key role with a growing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, coordinate and supervise day-to-day site works.
• Organise labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and work sequencing.
• Lead and support multiple onsite teams across active work areas.
• Provide clear direction, set expectations and provide practical guidance to team members.
• Liaise professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Monitor project progress and identify delays, risks or issues early.
• Help ensure projects remain on programme and work continues efficiently.
• Support and promote strong health and safety practices onsite.
• Supervise larger‑scale civil, water and infrastructure works.
• Ensure work is completed to specification, quality expectations and relevant standards.
• Manage and monitor project budgets and resources.
• Make practical decisions that consider productivity, costs and project constraints.
• Resolve onsite issues promptly and elevate matters where required.
• Maintain accurate site records and communicate progress and resource requirements to management.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You will ideally bring:

• A minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience, preferably within civil construction, water or infrastructure.
• Proven experience planning works and organising onsite teams.
• Experience managing multiple teams across active work areas.
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients and subcontractors.
• A practical, solutions‑focused approach.
• The ability to remain calm, organised and decisive under pressure.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work within project and budget constraints.
• A strong understanding of onsite health and safety requirements.

DESIRABLE

• Level 4 Water qualification.
• Potable water experience.
• Water reticulation experience.
• Experience supervising larger‑scale infrastructure projects.
