Job summary

KANDO Innovation, based at Guardian NZ operations in East Tamaki, is seeking a Service Technician Lead to drive installation, maintenance, and service excellence for Guardian Safety Bandsaws. You will lead a growing team, own service delivery, and support customers across New Zealand and internationally.

  • Experience in leading or managing service teams in a technical environment.
  • Track record in off-site installations, commissioning, and field servicing.
  • Confidence working with SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • High attention to detail and a tidy, methodical work style.
  • Excellent communication skills – training and customer support.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 80%, including international assignments.
  • Valid NZ Passport and Full NZ Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Be the subject matter expert on Guardian Safety Bandsaws – from installation to maintenance.
  • Create and maintain training materials and SOPs.
  • Train and mentor both internal team members and customer technicians.
  • Ensure high service standards, effective issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent customer and technical voices in evolving our service delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Service Technician Lead, you will:

Lead off-site installation, commissioning, and support activities.

Oversee and guide day-to-day operations of our Guardian service team.

Be the subject matter expert on Guardian Safety Bandsaws – from installation to maintenance.

Create and maintain training materials and SOPs.

Train and mentor both internal team members and customer technicians.

Ensure high service standards, effective issue resolution, and continuous improvement.

Represent customer and technical voices in evolving our service delivery.
