Waimea Group is seeking a hands-on Service Technician to join the Richmond workshop, servicing EWP, crane and vacuum/wastewater equipment and undertaking nationwide field trips. A remote option is available for Waikato and Bay of Plenty work, with regular two-week trips every quarter.
You will perform 365-day service plans, diagnose hydraulic/electrical faults, and contribute to detailed reporting, while travelling with expenses covered and a clear career path into leadership or SME roles.

Our client, Waimea Group builds and services the specialist vehicles that keep New Zealand's power, water and telecommunications networks running, from EWPs and cranes to Vacuum/Wastewater systems from world leading brands like Versalift, Palfinger and Allvac.We're looking for a hands-on Service Technician to join their Richmond team, working in the workshop and travelling nationwide to service equipment on customer sites.
They would also consider an option for a remote Service Technician who can service customers in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas where there is a steady workload.
The company started out in 1980 as Waimea Truck & Tractor, founded by Malcolm Thomas. Now in its third generation of family leadership, the business has grown into a leading direct importer, turnkey builder, and hire and lease provider of specialist utility vehicles across New Zealand and Australia. Today, over 70 people across the group support essential infrastructure by keeping utility crews equipped with reliable, well-maintained vehicles.
They back their products with a 365 Performance Plan of proactive field servicing, and their Service Technicians are key to deliver on that promise.
Based out of Waimea’s Richmond workshop, you’ll perform A and B services, repairs and rebuilds on EWP, crane and vacuum/wastewater equipment. You’ll also take part in planned 365 service trips to customer sites around New Zealand, and respond to reactive breakdowns as needed, sometimes at short notice.
Every quarter, you’ll head out on a two-week nationwide customer servicing trip. All travel expenses are covered, and you’ll be representing the Waimea brand on customer sites around the country.
