Job summary

KANDO Innovation, based at Guardian NZ operations in East Tamaki, is seeking a Service Technician Lead to drive installation, maintenance, and service excellence for Guardian Safety Bandsaws. Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience in leading or managing service teams in a technical environment.
• Track record in off-site installations, commissioning, and field servicing.
• Confidence working with SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
• High attention to detail and a tidy, methodical work style.
• Excellent communication skills – training and customer support.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 80%, including international assignments.
• Valid NZ Passport and Full NZ Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead off-site installation, commissioning, and support activities.
• Oversee and guide day-to-day operations of our Guardian service team.
• Be the subject matter expert on Guardian Safety Bandsaws – from installation to maintenance.
• Create and maintain training materials and SOPs.
• Train and mentor both internal team members and customer technicians.
• Ensure high service standards, effective issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Represent customer and technical voices in evolving our service delivery.
