Job summary

CCS Disability Action is seeking a Service Manager to provide strong leadership and supervision for service staff across the Manawatū region and nearby areas. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, adaptable support to disabled people and their families, while driving regional planning and organisational change.

You will lead service delivery with a people-centered approach, develop collaborative relationships with consumer groups, and support staff development in a not-for-profit

Qualifications

  • Understanding person and family directed planning and community development concepts.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Team leadership experience or relevant examples.
  • Qualified in Social Services or Human Services or equivalent.
  • Experience in a social services agency working with disabled people/families is advantageous.

Job description Service Manager

Hours: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

We have an exciting leadership position available for someone with a people-focussed mindset, to support the delivery of services within the Manawatū, Horowhenua, Whanganui and Wairarapa areas. You will:

  • Provide effective leadership and supervision to staff.
  • Drive quality improvement activities and contribute to regional and branch planning.
  • Contribute to the region’s strategic/business planning, and lead implementation of agreed organisational change.
  • Lead and coordinate high quality services that are creative, flexible, and responsive to the needs of disabled people and their families/whānau.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with disability consumer groups and governance.
Job specific information

This role offers you an exciting opportunity to become involved in providing leadership to the Manawatū, Horowhenua, Whanganui, and Wairarapa branches. This position involves relationship building, support and administration, along with leading a team of service staff who provide support services, information, and advocacy for both disabled people and their family/whānau. You will be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, compassion, and respect for one another.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following personal skills and attributes and professional skills and knowledge:

  • You will understand person and family directed planning and community development concepts.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • You have team leadership experience or can provide relevant examples that highlight these skills.
  • You hold a relevant qualification in Social Services or Human Services or equivalent qualification and/or work experience.
  • You may have experience working in a social services agency. Working with disabled children/youth/adults, their families/whānau and significant others would be advantageous.
