Job summary

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa invites applications for a permanent, full-time Service Manager based in Whangārei. You will lead two Level 4 residential mental health supported accommodation services, Corks at Tikipunga and Kotuku at Woodhill, ensuring safe, person‑centred care and strong governance.

You will coach multidisciplinary teams, drive service quality and compliance, build partnerships with whānau and community agencies, oversee staffing, rostering, property and budgets, and

Qualifications

  • Full registration and APC under HPCA Act 2003.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in mental health or addictions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage clinical teams.
  • First Aid certification including CPR or willingness to complete.

Lead two residential mental health services and support your team to deliver high-quality, person-centred outcomes for tāngata whaiora (people seeking wellness) in Whangārei.

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is a national provider of mental health, addiction, disability, offender rehabilitation, wellbeing, and housing services. We have a permanent full-time Service Manager opportunity based in Whangārei, leading our Corks Service in Tikipunga and Kotuku Service in Woodhill. These Level 4 residential mental health supported accommodation services provide a safe and supportive environment for people on their recovery journey. This role is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and performance of both services and participates in an on-call roster shared with other Service Managers.

You will:
  • Lead, coach, and support multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality services.
  • Drive service quality, continuous improvement, and compliance with organisational and contractual requirements.
  • Build strong partnerships with whānau, community agencies, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee staffing, rostering, property, resource, and budget activities within allocated parameters.
  • Manage recruitment, performance development, and workforce planning processes.
  • Respond to incidents, feedback, and operational issues to support safe and effective service delivery.

You will bring:
  • Full registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) under the HPCA Act 2003 (for example, Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or AOD Clinician).
  • Experience in management and/or leadership roles.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in mental health and addictions.
  • The ability to engage and maintain effective working relationships with clinical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR, or be willing and able to complete this.
