Job summary

CCS Disability Action in Flaxmere seeks a compassionate Community Support Worker for 8–10 hours per week (Tue 3pm–5:30pm and one weekend day; extra hours possible). You will provide wraparound support to a young person with complex needs, working with family to build strengths and help reach goals in a holistic, whānau‑centred way.

  • Full licence required
  • Level 3 & Level 4 Health and Wellbeing is advantageous but not essential

Job description

Community Support Worker
CCS Disability Action – Flaxmere, North Island

Hours: Part-time, 8–10 hours per week (Tuesday 3pm–5:30pm and one weekend day required). Extra hours available for the right candidate.

Job specific information

This role involves providing wraparound support to a young person with complex needs. You will work alongside them and their family to build strengths, respond to complex needs, and support the achievement of their goals and aspirations in a holistic, whānau-centred way.

The number of hours available are between 8-10 hours per week, however there is potential for flexibility for the right person. Whether you are available for just a couple of hours per week or more, we would love to hear from you.

Our organisation takes a social, rather than medical approach, supporting disabled people to live their best lives. We are guided by the Enabling Good Lives principles, shifting power and authority back to disabled people and their families, to increase choice and control in their lives.

About you

We are looking for someone with the following personal skills and attributes:

  • Level 3 & 4 Health and Wellbeing is advantageous but not essential
  • Experience in the Disability Sector
  • Can relate well to a diverse range of people
  • Have initiative and are reliable
  • Honest and trustworthy
  • Have a positive attitude and can support positive interactions
  • Full licence required
