Job summary

Otago Regional Council in Dunedin invites applications for a permanent Service Desk Analyst to join our Information Technology team. This full-time role (37.5 hours/week) is based in Dunedin, with options in Queenstown or Alexandra.

You will provide end-user IT support for PCs, software and business systems, maintain required software, and assist with council-wide IT services. A degree in computer science or related field and at least 2 years’ IT experience are preferred, with knowledge of

  • Be proactive and supportive of the IT team and contribute towards the achievement of the strategic IT plan

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Service Desk Analyst to join ourInformation Technology team on a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week)basis, in our busy Dunedin, Queenstown or Alexandra office.

The purpose of this position is to provide end user supportservices for ORC computers, business systems, and applications, ensuringreliable delivery of IT services to staff and stakeholders.

As a Service Desk Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Providinghelp desk support for all company PCs, peripherals, phones and tablets
  • Ensuringrequired software is available and installed for ORC staff as needed
  • Assistingwith maintenance and support of Council's corporate systems
  • Beproactive and supportive of the IT team and contribute towards theachievement of the strategic IT plan

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor'sdegree in computer science or related field
  • Asound knowledge of current software and hardware: including MicrosoftOffice 365, Teams, Windows OS, Active Directory and Client Managementtools
  • Minimumof 2 years' experience in IT sector
  • Provenexperience in network administration and desktop support
  • Innovative,shows initiative and is able to self-manage
