Job summary

Ministry of Social Development in Wellington is seeking a Senior Service Designer to lead transformation work, design and trial new service models for priority client groups, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Based at the National Office in Wellington, with consideration for Auckland/Christchurch, the role focuses on inclusive design, evidence-based solutions, and turning insights into practical, people-centred services that improve outcomes for New Zealanders.

Qualifications

• You will lead inclusive design sessions with clients, providers and colleagues.
• You will use research, evidence and best-practice design to identify new service opportunities.
• You will facilitate discussions and co-creation, contributing to client journeys and blueprints.
• You will draw on MSD and international practice to create tailored, evidence-based solutions.
• You will embed Te Ao Māori, te reo Māori, tikanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the way we work.
• You will turn insights into differentiated service experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, test and improve service models for priority client groups.
