Job summary

Ministry of Social Development (MSD) in Wellington seeks a Senior Service Designer to design, test and improve service models for priority client groups within its Transformation Programme. Based at the National Office in Wellington, with Auckland/Christchurch considered, the role focuses on inclusive, evidence-based service design across multiple teams.

You will lead inclusive design sessions with clients, providers and colleagues, map journeys, co-create solutions, and ensure implementations

Qualifications

• Skilled service designer who turns insight into practical services for priority client groups.
• Experience using research, evidence and co-design to identify opportunities and plan trials.
• Ability to facilitate design discussions and co-creation sessions with diverse groups.
• Experience mapping client journeys and creating cross-channel experiences.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori in the work.

Responsibilities

• Lead inclusive design sessions with clients, providers, partners and colleagues.
• Contribute to client journey mapping, blueprinting and cross-channel experience work.
• Turn insights into differentiated service experiences and practical implementations.
• Share emerging service design practices and support other designers.
