Job summary

Datacom is seeking a senior Portfolio Manager to lead delivery of complex IT portfolios within a government environment in Wellington. The role focuses on governance, assurance, financial oversight and stakeholder engagement across multiple initiatives.

The successful candidate will manage risks and dependencies, coordinate streams, and drive portfolio health checks to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and delivery methodologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years’ experience across project, programme and portfolio management in IT.
• Experience leading complex IT programmes or portfolios in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience working with Government Agencies.
• Strong portfolio governance, risk management, financial oversight and delivery assurance knowledge.
• Experience managing large, complex infrastructure and applications projects.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior-level influence.
• Ability to work onsite in Wellington with government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance and assurance across complex IT programmes and portfolios.
• Oversee a portfolio of large-scale applications and infrastructure projects.
• Provide oversight of risks, issues, dependencies, financials and delivery outcomes.
• Coordinate multiple programme streams to deliver a single portfolio view for stakeholders.
• Drive portfolio planning, scheduling, resource management and prioritisation.
